Jacquelyn Langston Calloway was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. She is a native of Kansas City, Kansas. A child of the parsonage, her parents are the Rev. Dr. and Mrs. W.C. West of the historic Antioch Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. She was educated in Kansas City Kansas Public Schools and attended Grambling State University, Grambling Louisiana. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology.
Jacquelyn is a member of Mu Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is a member of the Lena Jordan Unit of the Ethel G. Prioleau Women’s Missionary Society and Sister Advisor to the Women’s Ministry. She has served as President of the Mary A. Campbell Women’s Missionary Society, Second AME Church, Los Angeles, CA, President of the Southern California Conference AME Clergy Family Organization, and Financial Secretary of the Fifth Episcopal District AME Clergy Family Organization.
Jacquelyn retired from GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceutical Co. as a Senior Pharmaceutical Representative.
She is married to Rev. Dr. Kelvin T. Calloway, Senior Pastor of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Los Angeles and they are the proud parents of four adult children; Psachal, Jamal, Kelvin and Jakaila and grandparents to two grandsons; Mycah and Carter Jamal and a granddaughter: Sashat. Jacquelyn enjoys traveling, the arts and Jazz music when not engaged in her primary responsibilities as partner in ministry, wife, mother and grandmother.
